Tomato Cilantro Juice and The Cleanse: Day 3

Tomato Cilantro Juice and day 3 of my juice cleanse.  I’m starting to actually think this might be easier than I originally thought.

Morning Exercise: Skipped the gym this morning because I had an early event to go to. It was raining and storming all day, so I ended up just doing abs… That’s OK, though. A break from exercise is necessary every once in a while (especially when you can blame it on the weather).

Breakfast: Pear Orange Cantaloupe Juice

Lunch: Coconut Water

Dinner: Carrot Beet Ginger Juice

Snack: Tomato Cilantro Juice

I feel: I very very vividly imagined myself unable to lift an arm to get out of bed, based on yesterday’s morning adventure. However, I woke up feeling totally normal. I wasn’t groggy, tired, or weak. I wasn’t exactly like Superman or something, leaping out of bed with the greatest of ease and zooming around for the entire day with an abundance of extra energy that I just couldn’t wait to expel, but I was normal. I just went about my day as usual. It was a horribly rainy and stormy day outside, so indoor activities commenced and the day felt very very long. I didn’t get hit with a need to sleep until 10pm, though, so I didn’t take any naps or anything and felt fine.

Hunger-wise, it’s amazing that I haven’t felt hungry this entire time. I’m don’t even feel hungry when it comes time to eat! I actually have to remind myself by the time of the day to make juice, otherwise who knows how long I would go without it? I went out to lunch after the event with a group of women to Bad Daddy’s Burgers. Now, I’m never tempted by burgers anyway, since I don’t eat them, but I was amazed to find that the wafts of fries and tater tots and onion rings didn’t send my brain into a frenzy. I sat there and drank coconut water while everyone else ate and I didn’t mind at all (although I must admit I think coconut water tastes better than fries anyway… but maybe that’s just me).

No headaches or lethargy, but my mind still feels a little bit foggy like it’s difficult to concentrate on things. I definitely hope of all things that my mind clears up.  Let’s see how I feel on Day 4!

Weight Lost: 2 lbs.

Total Weight Lost: 3.5 lbs

Tomato Cilantro JuiceOnto the juice recipe of the day! This Tomato Cilantro Juice is quite delicious. It reminds me a bit of a Bloody Mary or a cold soup. The cucumber and celery help keep it a little bit more watery, as opposed to a really thick whir-up of vegetables, and the cilantro adds a really nice refreshing flavor. The color of the drink is so wonderful, but the taste is fantastic!

Tomato Cilantro Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Ripe Tomato, quartered
  • 2 Large Stalks of Celery
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1/2 Cup Cucumber
  • A large handful of Cilantro

Send everything through your juicer, pour in a glass, and enjoy! When I drink a pure vegetable juice I add 1-2 tsp. Olive Oil in the glass for extra benefits, plus I like to keep my body “lubricated” with a little bit of oil and heart-healthy fat.

This vegetable juice is wonderfully reminiscent of a Bloody Mary (without the booze or hot sauce). The color isn't amazing, but it tastes fantastic!
